Description
PPR Career, Inc. is in search of an experienced DBA (Database Administrator) to join an amazing group of technical professionals that utilize some of the most cutting edge technology in the industry! Ideally located in Columbia, SC you will find yourself in close proximity to the rolling mountains, the abundant beaches of South Carolina as well as a short drive to both Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA.
Primary functions include providing database administration services both in operational and developmental arenas.
Responsiblities:
• Analysis of data and integration related problems and the design of solutions, traditional operational database administration including setting up database backup/recovery, monitoring, tuning, and scripting of common tasks.
• Assist in database design and implementation including analysis of data issues and table design, and assist developers with SQL.
• Design and implement job scheduler elements, including jobs, job plans, events, schedules, calendars, etc.
• Design and implement supporting scripts for production and development data processing jobs.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or technical field, or extremely strong work experience as a DBA.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience, with expert knowledge of SQLServer required, Oracle installation and configuration preferred, along with excellent knowledge of relational database logical concepts, relational database physical implementation concepts, and excellent skills in SQLServer performance tuning, at all stages, including database and system design, physical database implementation, query execution plans, etc. T
• Good grasp of programming and software development concepts and competency in some scripting language, preferably Perl or Powershell is a BIG plus!
